The Tao Of Daniel: RESISTANCE
How does one achieve a sense of ‘Tao’? And can such an objective experience of this great way even be reached?
Resistance is the key; the aligning of oneself with those other greater forces.
Standing comfortably is to align the body with gravity and the ground; lying comfortably is the same.
Every physical posture utilises this same relationship to reach it’s desired effects; whether it be strength training, yoga or getting optimal sleep.
Furthermore, every moment in life is a balancing act; a tuning into those forms of resistance which we must harmonise ourselves with: people, space, nature, the senses.
Without resistance there is no harmony. Without conflict there is no ‘resolution’. Without war there is no peace.
Finding a prison means to learn how best to escape it.
One might ask oneself: have I ever been totally free actually? And, if so, was there not some very clear challenge or resistance that manifested it?
Too many choices, too much wealth, too greater relationships and chores, perhaps serves no one.
Life is lived on a knife edge; those who stand tall are always on the verge of falling. It is the risk of the fall that manifests the standing man.
After all, how can there be any stillness, any strength, any sincerity, without its corresponding opposite?
