The TAO Of Daniel: SIMPLICITY

Life is lived through tiny moments; ordinary, simple experiences.

The way of being, and of the Tao, is therefore about simplicity. Whether it’s the way we eat, sleep, work, communicate, create or make love, the value lies in the tiny details.

Living simply is not WHAT you do but more HOW you do it; the way of behaving rather than the behaviour itself.

But how does one hope to take such a journey in fact?

The simple answer is Awareness. Finding the ‘moments between the moments’ as one might also say.

This comes with developing a steady practice of meditation, or of concentrated, careful tasks. Meditation is, after all, just doing one simple thing well - with full clarity and awareness.

Cooking can be meditation. Sex can be meditation. Showering, cleaning, administration also.

When everything around you changes, one thing always remains: your simple, conscious experience of being.

It merges into all things, so that consciousness becomes not a difficult, complex journey but instead an easy and extremely basic approach to life.

That approach we call the TAO.
