The TAO Of Daniel: BALANCE
Pay attention. Listen closely. Open your eyes, ears and nose, and you will notice the infinite ebbing and flowing of the great Tao.
Softness transforms into hardness, noise into silence, hate into love, jealousy and anger into empathy.
The essence of the Tao is therefore balance; those invisible scales tipping gently from side to side. It’s subtle no doubt, and yet inescapably present once one’s been made aware of it…
…like the sun softly breaching a wall of clouds.
Balance is a dynamic thing however, and is inextricably linked to change. As one aspect of human life changes then the rest arranges itself around it, like a river meandering itself intuitively around rocks.
When life decides to shift gears then the human organism adapts, becoming to his/her new roles and responsibilities.
Balance is therefore more than you or I, and more than community even. It is the entire equation of the universe, felt through the immense capacities of every human being to sense, feel, act and adapt.
And it is through this action-reaction that we evolve, change and grow as both a collective and as individuals.
The path is (perhaps) already decided. The Tao layed it out for you long ago. All we must do is continue to ‘steady the ship’ and, slowly but steadily, we’ll sail to exactly where we need to be.
