The TAO Of Daniel: PRACTICE
What does it mean to practice TAO? The ‘1 million dollar’ question, right?!…
Well to be honest, maybe we cannot really know. But perhaps we can explore, at least, what it is NOT.
It is not polished. It is not finite. And it is certainly not perfect.
It’s fragile, endless and absolutely flawed, every step of the way. In fact, the more one knows about Tao, and the more one studies and practices it, the more impossible it seems to be.
Failing, stumbling, readjusting, every step of the way, until Death inevitably finds us. And yet death is also just another part of the practice…
It is this impossibility of truth that divides Taoism from other religions, and enforces the true spirit of practice within the Tao journey. No wander true Taoists appear somewhat invisible, or at least blend in with the common crowd - the humility of their practice demands it.
And as for talent, or success, the Tao lacks a definition of such terms also.
Every performance is a practice, and every practice is a performance; in a Taoist’s eyes at least.
Eventually Death will come, and so what about the way he or she practices this also? The way one breathes for the final time, says goodbye, closes one’s eyes, lays on the last bed.
This will remain the final display, and the grand culmination of one’s entire practice.
